Subject: DivInc impacts 78,000 underestimated students in 2019

DivInc is an impact business based in London. They believe young people deserve to realise their full entrepreneurial potential. The company’s aim is to help 1.3 million underestimated 11 to 18 year old students to launch their own startups by inspiring, equipping and funding their ideas.

They have a three month online incubator (with resources and online live talks with various entrepreneurs and creatives) for students to access during their startup ideation phase after which they prepare a video pitch and send across to DivInc. The best ideas are then selected and given a chance to pitch for funding in front of investors at our demo day.

This year DivInc is working with 7 schools and  6,500 students from across London as they begin this journey. Students with startup ideas which have the potential to impress investors and funders are given an opportunity to work with mentors and gain connections which they otherwise might not have access to.

In September 2019, DivInc will be working with over 78,000 students across the UK.

Their clients work with them so that they can access and impact DivInc’s Gen Z audience. Whether it’s a desire to hire diverse Gen Z talent or to work with them on a real world business problem, their clients understand that this next generation of talent needs authentic engagement from a much younger age.

About DivInc CEO, Jay Richards

DivInc Founder, Jay Richards is the 5th of 6 children from migrant parents. From getting involved in robbery while at school to now the CEO of DivInc and a Forbes 30under30 social entrepreneur, he credits his Business Studies teacher at school for guiding his sense of entrepreneurship in the right direction at the right time and now aims to help young people to get a head start in their entrepreneurial journey.

DivInc helps young people from underestimated backgrounds (women or those from low income or ethnic minority backgrounds) to launch their own startup businesses and gain investment, they do this by inspiring, equipping and funding them.

“Young people from underestimated backgrounds are 87% less likely to found their own startup business, this wasn’t only a statistic that frustrated me, it was a statistic that hit home, I was part of that statistic. I grew up struggling against it, every business I have ever started was an uphill struggle, as it should be, but I truly believe the struggle for underestimated young people is much harder than the more privileged. DivInc is our way of tipping the balance, of helping the overlooked to solve problems that others are missing. Some of the greatest companies to ever exist will be birthed from the minds of underestimated young people through our incubator and they will change the world. Helping our clients to access and impact our audience is game changing, our cohorts get the amazing opportunity to work side by side with some unbelievable companies!” – Jay Richards – DivInc Founder
